Congressional Research I

The intent of our computer lab work on 17 and 20 September is to (a) make you aware of some of the Congressional races around the country this year, and (b) begin the process of discussing and covering those elections.  Eventually, you will do a group presentation and write a short essay on the outcome of the upcoming elections.

For now, by the end of the 17th, G Block should have
For homework over the weekend of 17-19 September, F block should have

____  found at least one website covering each of the races noted below
____  read there an introduction to those races
____  noted (in notebooks or file on computer) the candidates in the races
____  found at least one recent poll covering the race (recent = since June)
____  written and emailed a paragraph to me listing the candidates in all of the races, identifying their parties, summarizing ONE of the races, and indicating who's currently expected to win, based on the poll and the reading.  Include, at the end of the paragraph, a link to the source you used to gather the information.  Do this paragraph in an EMAIL, not an attached document, and make the subject line:
