This is the final stage of your examination of the Congressional races this fall. It comes in two parts--the update and the prediction.
The Update:
Please update the status of the races you were focusing on. This update for each race should include:
___ the most recent poll(s) in the race
___ two news articles discussing the race (by links)
___ two key quotations from the articles explaining why the race is going the way it's going.
The Essay:
In a two-three page, double-spaced, Time New Roman or other normal font size 12, essay, please predict the outcome of the Congressional elections this fall, and explain why you predicted the outcome you did. The explanation should cite at least five sources, and should discuss not only your races but, more importantly, the whole deal around the country. The essay should
___ clearly state how many Democratic and Republican Senators will be in the next Congress;
___ clearly state how many Democratic and Republican Representatives will be in the next Congress;
___ cite five different sources discussing the Congressional elections;
___ provide three main arguments supporting the prediction, with at least two citations supporting each argument;
___ have a clear introduction containing an underlined thesis statement, a solid set of body paragraphs, and a clear conclusion;
___ have 1" margins all around;
___ be given a clever or catchy title and have your name on it; and
___ be submitted, via email, no later than 7:45 am on Monday, 1 November 2010.
